What Is a CPU Fan?

Dec. 08, 2017

CPU, almost everyone knows, it is always be installed in a computer pc host. But what is CPU fan? I guess there will be some people do not know. In one word, CPU fan is a cooling fan which can keep your computer cooling, and make it work for a long time.

The circuitry inside a computer generates heat, and the amount of heat produced is increased with faster processors, random access memory (RAM), graphics cards, and other components. These components must be kept at a regulated temperature in order to prevent overheating, which can lead to malfunctions and damage. To keep the components cool, fans move heated air away from them and draw cooler air to them. The fans use a heatsink, which increases the amount of surface area that is being cooled. A fan needs a heatsink because the large-scale integrated circuit becomes such a concentrated heat source that the fan on its own does not prevent overheating.
